Do not read this post

This is just a pointless little note to say that today I am eating Western food, but doing it J-style. I had one more frozen container of homemade chili in the freezer, so I defrosted it and put a little on a bed of rice for lunch (about 75% rice, 25% chili). I used to eat my chili with cheese and sour cream on top, but this time I just added a little hot Chinese mustard. Yum! Although I don't think my stomach likes me for doing that - the chili, not the mustard.

That's something else I noticed on the J-diet - no intestinal disorders. Everything I ate, exotic as it was, sat well with my stomach.

Well that is good to know that you are having no intestinal disorders with the janapense cuisine. I love my chili with fritos, sour cream & shredded cheese in it. Yeah i'm a pig :) but I prolly only eat it once a year!

I refused to listen to you and I read it anyway, non-conformist that I am. :D

Sounds like your food is strong enough to kill any intestinal parasite.

See, that's why I'm not diving full blast into Asian foods. I love my dairy. Indian food has paneer sometimes, but I know Japanese/Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean foods have no dairy that I can recall. Brrr! I need my cheese, sour cream, and ice cream!

my parents take a tonne of chilli and eat everything with it - sometimes even pasta.

my dad goes into his indian restaurant and orders the spiciest meal then asks for extra chilli. Usually causes the locals/regulars to spin around from the tables in shock.

I guess I live too close to cajun country, we eat rice with everything. lol...

Glad you didn't have any problems in the pits of your bowels. ;-P

Well, you had Chinese mustard on it. Does that count?

Wait till those chili beans work their way thru your belly.

Of course maybe that hot chinese mustard will zap all that gas right out of you.

Either that or your farts are going to be KILLER farts. ;)

You are officially white trash now.

Placing white trash badge on your cammies...

I honestly believe if everyone were to eat nothing but clean fresh sushi every day-----we'd be much more healthier than processed foods and chemicals to keep them fresh.

As far as parasites goes? Ah----as long as you go to a reputable place that serves it fresh and 'that day'---you got no problem.

For me? Maybe not so much of a problem. Looking to lose a few pounds anyway.

Bon appetit!

patti_cake: I used to like that (along with diced onions and pickled jalapeno peppers), but now that I'm Japanese I don't have the stomach for it.

saur kraut - when blogger e-mails me your comments, it converts the heart to the symbol for Yen.

kira - without even thinking about it I quit drinking milk and using butter. I used to go through that a lot. I would have never thought I could get by without cheese, but I don't even miss it now.

tigerkiss - thanks, but they're complaining a little after I had pizza last night.

tai - okay, I didn't.

annush - does slam dancing count? 'Cause I rule the mosh pit.

fatty - as I get older, my body seems to like spicy less and less, although I've discovered I can handle Asian spicy (hot mustard, wasabi, and shichimi togarashi) better than Western spicy (jalapeno peppers and Tobasco sauce).

blondie - the way I had the chilli was probably more Cajun style, served on top of the rice instead of separate containers.

pbs - I guess that makes it slightly Asian.

pq - it turned out killer.

mallory - :)

~deb - when I lived in Birmingham, I had a pickup truck, harmonica, and hound dog. You missed my official poor white trash days.

liz - I also hate iced tea and grits, so I've never really fit in.
