Bits of Americana

Really Huge Mall

This is the Tanger Outlet Center in Locust Grove, Georgia. It isn't the largest mall in America (or even in Georgia), but it's still pretty big. Great place to park your car and do a lot of walking. Judging from the people I saw there, they could really use it.

Really Huge Mall

For all your discount Jebus needs.

Really Huge Mall

For all your Jeff Foxworthy needs. I don't know what they actually sell, although the signs claim it's very funny. I should have gone inside.

Really Huge Mall

If it's bad for your health, you can find it in a refrigerated vending machine here.

Really Huge Mall

Except for FECKING PEPSI PRODUCTS! We don't drink that damn yankee poison down here.

Really Huge Mall

Go Speed Racer!

I enjoyed your photo post. Back in the day, Pepsi was my drink of choice so you just lost yourself two precious respect points, Mr. Grant. (fortunately, you've accrued many over the past 14 months - this won't hurt you much)

I think they ought to make those little rides like your speed racer one much bigger incase adults want to use them. WTF? Why should kids be the only ones that get a fitty-cent thrill? or is it up to a buck now? Whatever ... just sayin.

that black car can't park?

NESTLE!! is australian! well, it was, it could have been bought up...

and thats cocacola - not pepsi. Pepsi is gay. CocoCola is Great. What other drink originally had cocaine in it?

I have been there, actually. I stop by on my way down to Tampa to see my folks. Mmmm outlet shopping....

Atlanta is pretty much Coke headquarters, right? I would bet it's harder to find Pepsi anywhere you go.

Nestle is aussie? You are mistaken. Nestle was founded by Henri Nestlé in like the 1860's, a Swiss pharmacist. If I recall correctly, it had something to do with him wanting to make baby formula.

Malls make me queasy.

But seeing a Bible outlet store was something new. Too many heathens in my neck of the woods for a store like that to merit mall-status.

hag - in my soda days, I preferred Mountain Dew followed by Dr. Pepper followed by Pepsi. Living in Atlanta was a constant reminder that this is the home of Coke. Now I drink green tea and don't have to worry about it.

tai - yes, the mall is carved out of a wooded area and made with nothing natural. We really kicked Mother Nature's butt that time.

fatty - it's ours now. We own everything.

kira - you can get Pepsi at places owned by them (Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut) but most restaurants only stock Coke products and are proud of it. True conversation when we took a Northern vendor out for a steak dinner:
Him: "Can I get a Pepsi?"
Waitor: "Not around here."

kira - Cat fight! Cat fight! Kira's wearing the Catholic girl outfit, Fatty's in the miniskirt and cowboy boots. :p

spider girl - I approve of Canada's Satanic attitude.

Yea, I think Pepsi is a yankee thing too. I hate it, like watered down Coke.

Interesting mall, it is different than the ones("Yankee malls")up here. But I love Coca Cola and don't like Pepsi...

liz - it's funny, but people who don't like Pepsi seem to have different reasons - too sweet, too bland, too strong, too acidic, etc.

pbs - the good thing about it is that it has so many stores, I can always find something I need.

stiltwalker - I didn't know where East Jesus was.

hellbunny - I'm completely off sodas now and doing green tea.

I can't see any of the pics! I heart Tanger Outlets, I go to the ones in Myrtle Beach and they are about to build them in Charleston also.
The Hub just found the joy of diet green tea :)

Pepsi is a Carolina product, hardly Yankee, just sayin', ya know?
