Feeling Human Again

Week one of Daylight Savings Torture is over, and thanks to a lot of rest over the weekend I am beginning to feel more like my old self again. I’ve heard cows are less productive during the first week of DST, and I completely empathize. I’ve always felt something of a bond with our bovine pals – we’re both cute and like to wear leather. Anyway, it will probably be a couple of weeks more before I’m completely comfortable with the time change, but at least my brain is going forward again.

The thing I missed the most last week was my imagination. The time shift threw my brain off kilter, shutting it down entirely. I’m used to a constant flood of voices and imagery everywhere I go and in everything I do. Last week, nothing. I was busy at work, but with all the silence and a lack of homicidal urges and stories running through my mind I felt truly and thoroughly bored and alone. Glad that’s over. It’s back to writing this week.

The next couple of days will be very busy at work, although I will experience the rare bliss that comes with being able to get off the phones. Following is a picture of me hard at work at my desk:

:p, out

Your office accommodations are far superior to mine. Glad to see you're back. I've experienced some brain-desertion as well lately.
