For those confused about religion...

Allow me to confuse you a little more. People everywhere wrestle with the god concept, so allow me to present a couple of theories for your consideration:

Scientific view (combination of ancient Greek philosophy and modern physics): Every moment has a moment proceeding it, just as every moment has a moment preceding it; therefore, it is logical to conclude that time stretches to infinity in both directions. Taking that as given, it means the universe has always existed in some form or other. The universe is currently expanding, but slowing. If the rate of expansion exceeds the gravitation forces slowing it, the universe will eventually drift apart into the void, celestial bodies too far apart to maintain cohesion. If the forces are equal, the universe will eventually stabilize. If gravity exceeds the expansion, the universe will eventually collapse in upon itself forming a singularity which may explode and repeat the process - birth, growth, maturity, decline and death, but on a macroscopic level. In this case, it may have already happened an infinite number of times.

Christian view (simplification largely borrowed from George Carlin): There's an invisible man who lives in the sky and watches every single thing you do. He has this list, these ten things that you're not allowed to do, and if you do even one you'll spend eternity burning in a non-consuming fire, senses assaulted by the screams of the tortured and the smells of brimstone and burning human flesh, suffering for your transgressions in hell for ever and ever...but he LOVES you. And, he needs money.

Let me know which one makes more sense. Include reasons. If you go with option B, send money and I'll see that god gets it.

Theology, out
