f00d, wtf

The fact that people here voted Hardee's as having the second best hamburgers only shows these dumb fat rednecks wouldn't know a good burger if they were choking on one. Fuddruckers, Houston's, and the Varsity (especially the Varsity) are also vastly overrated. Besides, Gyu Don is superior to your fecking Western food anyway.

I like to make my own. I really don't get hamburgers OUT too much. Sometimes I grab a hamburger from a chain like Wendy's, but...that's rare. So, I guess I'm telling you that my opinion here is worthless (I know, I know...if I disagree with you, it's already worthless ;))

I'm with Kira---make your own and be creative! I love to spice up my burgers with my own special ingredients.

Other than that----from J food to burgers? Hmmm...

I've missed ya buddy! :)

Hopefully you're inspiring many more people to try something healthier and let's pray it will have a snowball effect, hmmm, you know ... Burger EDGE has the edge over here, I had one over the weekend and had to buy a new tshirt, not cos I gained weight, because I dripped sauce down the front of my loved Levi top - motherchucker!

I usually make my own. I like them best because they're made exactly how I like them! But we have a dive bar that makes really good burgers.

The PK makes KILLER hamburgers....but other than that, I'd opt for either Chili's or a local b-b-q joint called "Fat Boy's" that make good burgers too.

I don't think anyone at "Fat Boy's" has ever even heard of soy burgers...;)

The Varsity wishes they could be Steak & Shake.

If I had a Umezono near me, I don't think I would eat anywhere else, the prices are so good.

Really???? Hardees? Eeewww, that's just nasty. I've pretty much given up on hamburgers. One too many times of crunching down on something that wasn't supposed to be in there. Yuck!

I don't eat burgers very much. They put so much else on them you can hardly taste the flavour of the meat.

Agreed on Fuddruckers.

As I read this, I was thinking "Grant still eats burgers?!?" but then you came through in the end...

Uh oh Blogger is being an ass but i'll try to post again.
I like homemade burgers best but for Fast Food I guess my pick would be your basic McDonalds cheeseburger. I love those dried onions!

Hardees?? I had never had one until I showed up in Illinois last year for a track meet. A Hardees burger should be ordered to go so that you have a handy barf bag!

kira - thank you for wasting cyberspace. :p

~deb - my all-time favorite for burgers is to either grill them with bbq sauce, or add worcestershire sauce to the meat.

fatty - there's nothing wrong with my jeans - they're just a little faded. Besides, わたしは にほんじん です。

mel - I've never heard of Burger EDGE, although we had a local chain called Milos in Birmingham, Alabama that was far better than the rest.

pbs - it's funny how the grimiest places often have the best food.

pq - I like tofu and soy sauce, but I hate it when they try to use it as a meat substitute, like Boca burgers or meatless meatloafs. Bleah.

gib - my former BS employees were fond of the Varsity, and acted like going there was the equivalent of Pilgreen's. When I finally got invited, I was extremely disappointed.

tracy - the food and service are even better than the cheap value. Umezono is the only place I eat these days (at least three times a week). Dinner entrees starting under $6? I've spent more at McDonalds.

angie - I think Hardees is especially bad. I tried one after they came out with those commercials likening their food to expensive restaurants, and it tasted like the greasy patty had gone bad.

hellbunny - depends on where you go, but most places around here don't have that problem. Their problem is bad taste and an abundance of grease.

krisbtterfly - there's a place in Philly that serves a 12 pound burger (9 pounds of meat plus three pounds of cheese and toppings). We should give that a try.

joe - the only time I ate there was with BS management that likes trendy places. I got a tiny overpriced burger with a crispy bun. I had been told of the wonderful variety of toppings, but was surprised to find nothing beyond what Burger King offers except for a few liquid cheese-like toppings.

patti_cake - reconstituted onions. I can feel myself getting gassy at their mere mention.

rick - I've never had a good meal from Hardees. Maybe it would be more efficient if you just asked them to flush a value meal for you - eliminate the purge step.

My personal favorite is Fatburger. How can you go wrong with a place called Fatburger?

Fatburger actually has the best hamburgers out there.

And, surprisingly, Carl's Jr (the west coast Hardee's) has really good burgers.

I am a burger gourmet, so I can speak with complete authority. The best burger I've ever had that's not fast food was at The Engine Company in downtown Los Angeles, and it was made from Kobe beef. Those Japanese make their cows mm-mm good.

doug - you thin people may do well at Fatburger, but I do better to stick with J-food. Still, I don't get it. I've been eating fifty pounds of fish a day and I haven't lost any weight. :p

avitable - the best burger I ever had was in a restaurant in Chattanooga. It was a tiny place that had a creative chef, although the burger was straight forward. It was wonderful because all the ingredients were top notch - black angus beef, Vermont sharp white cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, etc. Funny, but I've heard from other Americans that Japanese beef is inferior.
